Class Description: Build a strong foundation in jewelry fabrication in copper and upcycled metals. This exploratory metals/jewelry class covers design ideas, techniques and skills for creating 3 - 5 projects during this 4-day class. We’ll build upon basic skills and techniques that can be accomplished in a small-scale metals studio environment. Techniques such as cutting, forming, shaping, decorative surfaces, and finishing processes will be covered. This is a fun class and may be a new adventure for most.

Bio:
Theresa Lovering-Brown is an artist, teacher, metalsmith and mentor. She began her teaching career in the San Francisco Bay area in 1986. For 25 years she taught and was head of the Jewelry and Metal Arts at Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey CA where she recently retired from full-time teaching. She’s been a guest artist at the annual Yuma Symposium, past President of the Monterey Bay Metal Arts Guild and her work has been shown nationally and internationally. Her knowledge of Metal Arts is wide-ranging and extensive. She holds a Bachelors of Arts from San Diego State University, a Masters of Arts from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and did a post-graduate residency at the Appalachian Center for Crafts.
